Geoff Gregson is the JR Shaw Chair in New Venture and Entrepreneurship at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton, Canada and is Visiting Professor at EADA Business School in Barcelona, Spain. Geoff is also Visiting Researcher with the Institute for the Study of Science, Technology & Innovation (ISSTI) at the University of Edinburgh. He was previously a Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Research at the University of Edinburgh Business School between 2005 and 2014.
As an entrepreneur, he started up and managed two ventures and has experience as Chairman and non-Executive Director with UK-based and international businesses. He previously served as project manager with the Canadian Environmental Technology Advancement Corporation. His areas of academic and practitioner expertise include private equity financing; technology commercialisation; strategic leadership and corporation innovation; and exploitation of intellectual property (IP).
Geoffrey earned a PhD in Management, LLM in Intellectual Property Law and MSc in Social Science Research from the University of Edinburgh, an MBA from the University of Calgary and BPE from the University of Alberta.
